It's by far the easiest to find an old 1990's computer with Windows 95 or 98 installed if you want to play this and similar very early Windows games. However you may still run into QuickTime issues with Windows 95 inside DOSBox, such as some of the cut scenes being skipped. I have an external floppy for the windows 10 pc. Both pcs have cd roms and the windows 98 pc came with a floppy drive.
I have an old pc still running windows 98 and a modern pc running windows 10. Regular DOSBox does not support Windows 95. Copying Win95 installation files over to your disk image so you can run that installer after youve installed MS-DOS on it. Some people have managed to install Windows 95 or 98 inside SVN Daum. If you are determined to play it on a modern computer, your best bet is one of the specialized SVN versions of DOSBox like SVN Daum. Unlike DOSBox, virtual machines have no control over processor speed. You couldn't even play it on Windows 98 inside a virtual machine because it would still be too fast. The game requirements were for a 90 MHz Pentium (133 MHz "recommended") and computers today are orders of magnitude faster. As such, unless you have a specific requirement for Windows ME, the DOSBox-X team recommands to use Windows 98SE instead. Even if you got it running, which is doubtful since it probably contains 16-bit code, the timed sequences would be finished and you'd have failed before you were even able to see there was one. In general Windows ME has received less testing, and also has more compatibility issues with programs designed for Windows 95 and 98.
It's extremely unlikely to be playable on any modern computer due to the processor speed problems that Inferno mentioned. I have Windows 95 C OSR 2.5 and Windows 98 and Ill not have to install dosbox so functional stable and it crashes at the second stage of installation to time of detection device that is after rebooting the first time. This may be a moot question but will it run under Windows 10? These are the limitations you have to know about before you install this.
